If you are looking for somewhere to stay near the village, we recommend La Petite Grange. Owned by Barry and Chris Burnham, they have either a Gite sleeping 3 persons or offer B & B. Lovely restored and renovated barn between Lubersac and Pompadour. See their website La Petite Grange.

If you don't mind being a little further away from our village then try the Gite or B&B/Chambres d'Hotes accommodation in this beautiful village of Montgibaud. It's only about 20 minutes away. See Le Pelateau.

Eating in the village try La Part des Anges only open in the late spring and summer but Manu offers the best local produce in the area.

Or if you're in Uzerche try Le Charmant, great food and the owner's wife is English so no language problem.

Fantastic site for French recipes

If you have bought or are thinking of buying a place in France that needs restoration you might just be terrified of the thought of regulations, planning, artisans etc. If you want someone to help, either with the whole project or just some parts, then Steve Davies may well be able to help you. He has done work for friends of ours in the village and is absolutely first class. You can see more about him on his website by clicking on his name.

If you have or are buying in the area and need work done then here are two recommendations:

Pompadour Construction are based locally. I have had work done by Tony and the quality of it was outstanding. Tony is not just a builder he is a craftsman and takes immense pride in doing a first class job.

Also local is Tom Moore. His parents live in Segur so I know them well. I have now used him myself and can confirm that he is very good. He did a great job for me on a chimney. Good workmanship, good price and done when promised.

Both of the above are registered properly and have 10 year insurance covering their work
